Where can I go on a travel nursing assignment?
Well, almost anywhere in the United States. The name of the game is supply and demand. If your specialty is a high demand one there will be a lot of opportunity. The less picky you are about a specific location, the more likely you will be to find an attractive assignment that meets your other criteria.
Big cities always have the most travel nurse jobs. California, Florida, New York…..all of the big populous states have opportunities. But don’t let that deter you from looking into more adventurous areas. Like I said, almost everywhere has some kind of need. You just may have to work a little harder to find it.
The easiest nurses to find travel nurse jobs for are those who are open minded about their personal criteria. I love working with nurses who ask me to give them some ideas. Licensing always comes into play, of course, but your recruiter can help with that. I like to ask what kind of experience one is looking for. Is it Wintertime and you love to ski? Lots of choices. “Somewhere with beaches” is a common refrain. General ideas make it much easier to give you competing options.
On the other hand if you have a specific need (“I have grandchildren in the Phoenix area I’d like to get close to”) do not hesitate to speak up.
It’s a big world out there.
TIP: And if you would like to talk with me personally and ask some more questions or have me do a job search for you and give you some ideas I’d be happy to. Fill out the short form below and I will email you or text you to see how I may help you out.–Conrad
