Got to London today and although the flight was direct, 10 hours is a long haul, especially flying against the clock. It turns out it rained like crazy here yesterday and by the time we crawled off of our flight the sky was blue and the warmest day of the year was upon us! Nice.
After checking in and having a great English breakfast we headed down Piccadilly to Trafalgar Square and Green Park (next to Buckingham Palace). The beautiful Sunday weather coupled with all of the tourists visiting the city made for a vibrant atmosphere. International people watching to the max!
In the evening we met some old friends who happen to be visiting London at the same time and had an early dinner at Shepherds Pub in Mayfair. The food was a bit dodgy but the company was great and after all, it’s not that often you can meet old friends in London.
A warm Sunday evening stroll in the famous Hyde Park topped off a very full day. I’m having a nightcap at the pub near my hotel, writing this on my iPad and getting ready for a much needed first nights sleep in London.
I’ll check back in tomorrow!
It is time for the sun to set in the English Empire.
Hi Con! Wow, I wish I was in London. Your pictures are great. Have fun. Alex will be in London soon. How long will you be there? Love, Mary
Here until the weekend and then off to Italy.
