The week between Christmas and New Years is always one where the press seems addicted to telling stories recapping the past year. Boring! Newspapers and broadcasts are full of stories about what happened in 2006. Lazy journalism.
Personally, I’d rather start thinking about the year to come and all of the opportunity and adventures it has in store. I start planning and budgeting my travel and vacations, finalize my career and business plans, schedule and look for continuing education seminars and classes….now that is interesting. Each of us has a different set of circumstances, ( like kids, education, spouses, parents, etc) that need to be put into the equation.
Some of the things I have that may assist you in this process are:
TravelnursingUSA.com – this site contains lots of resources if you are interested in travel nursing. There are articles, there are questions and answers, there is a page listing all of the top travel nursing agencies, and there is a request form that you can fill out for more information. That form will be immediately forwarded to all of our Member Agencies thus saving you the time and trouble of individually contacting them. Be sure you are specific as to exactly what it is you are looking for. The site also has information on each state and all of the state nursing board information.
Nursetown.com – this is one of the oldest and most popular nursing sites on the Internet. There are articles and discussion groups galore and over 4000 job listings in all fifty states. they are both permanent and travel jobs. Lots and lots of resources. You can also sign up for a free monthly nursing newsletter.
TravelnursingJobFairs.com – I am partnering with some of the top travel nursing agencies in the United States to have an online job fair in January, April, July and October. Each of these fairs will last only five days and will feature special jobs with many extra goodies not normally offered. Visit this site for more information and be sure and add your email address so you will receive bulletins and updates on the job fairs as they are announced. Remember, they only last 5 days and then the best opportunities will be gone.
