I am a new grad from a reputable ASN program with a 3.52 nursing school GPA, I passed my NCLEX in Indiana two days ago. I, OF COURSE, would need hands on training and supervision. Is travel nursing really even a possibility considering I have no experience?
Congratulations on your achievements. Due to the temporary nature of a travel assignment and the fact that facilities are paying premium dollars for your work, they are not interested in having to do a lot of training. Of course there is some orientation involved but generally speaking you need to have an absolute minimum of a years experience and more and more agencies are asking for even more.
On a brighter note, time flies and you’ll have that experience before you know it. In the meantime you may want to get to know some of the travel nurses working wherever you end up and pick up some tips on what it is like.
